WHAT IS THE PROGRAM?
EF Academy’s High School Preparation Course helps you strengthen and improve your English language skills so that there will be nothing standing in your way when you begin the IGCSE, A-Level or IB program. The Prep Course curriculum includes science and math lessons, so you can also learn subject-specific vocabulary that will prove valuable when you continue your studies. Solid language skills are part of the scholastic foundation you need to thrive academically.
WHO IS IT FOR?
The Prep Course is for students who need to improve their English level before going into an academic program. The course is flexible in length to cater to all current ability levels. You can study for 3, 6, 9 or 12 months, depending on your individual needs and goals.

CURRICULUM
With instruction from experienced and certified teachers, you will focus on learning and improving the language skills you require to begin your chosen academic programs with confidence. The curriculum has been designed to provide you with the foundation for study in the U.S. or UK, regardless of the education system you follow at home. With courses including writing, reading and grammar, you will become acclimated to the philosophy of international study which requires independent thought, self-expression and superior study skills. The course thoroughly prepares you for the next chapter in your studies and beyond.
THE SCHOOL YEAR AT A GLANCE
Prep Course students will follow the same schedule as current IB, A-Level and IGCSE students. Various classes and subjects are offered to help you become familiar with the high school curricula that you will encounter. Emphasis is placed on the vocabulary, main concepts and tasks that you will come across during your later studies so that you can enjoy a smooth transition to your new academic environment, equipped with the tools you will need to perform well in high school. Exact course content is adapted to fit the needs of the students enrolled, and the requirements of their chosen program.
