What is an Institute of Higher Education?

Saint Martin's Institute of Higher Education is a private tertiary education institution, licensed by Malta's National Commission for Further and Higher Education. The Institute was founded in 1985 offering ordinary level computer science. The Institute then began offering an alternative to youths: the opportunity to read for degrees through the University of London International Programmes.
The Department of Computing & Information Systems soon developed, and through the University of London International Programmes, Saint Martin's Institute was able to deliver tuition for a variety of courses. The Institute more recently developed the Department of Business, Entrepreneurship and Finance, allowing us to provide students with more options. The Institute has an excellent track record, with over 40% of its graduates achieving a first class honours, all conferred by the University of London. Today, Saint Martin's Institute of Higher Education is an Affiliate Centre for the University of London International Programmes. This is the highest level of recognition, and in the considered view of the University of London, we demonstrate a sustained commitment to developing excellence in respect of teaching, support to students and administrative processes.
Through hard work and dedication, Saint Martin's Institute has established itself as a unique teaching institution in Malta, all based upon a commitment to quality education. In fact, Saint Martin's Institute was one of only six teaching affiliate centres to win the special University of London's 150th Anniversary Award, celebrating our excellent work & results obtained.
